Ganglia

The Apple G5 Bioinformatics cluster is used extensively for running large-scale parallel jobs. One method of accessing the cluster is through the iNquiry interface. In iNquiry, the Ganglia hyperlink can be used to display performance and utilization metrics for the cluster. Ganglia is a popular utility for monitoring high-performance computing systems such as the Bioinformatics cluster.

The Ganglia report below shows the cluster under heavy load. Essentially the entire system is consumed while executing numerous, long-running, parallel jobs.
