GeneGo

Systems Biology and Pathway Analysis

Differential protein expression
in androgen-treated prostate cancer cell lines (Dezso et al.). Mapped with GeneGo software.

GeneGo offers bioinformatics technology solutions for systems biology and pathway analysis. Their products enable the reconstruction of mammalian cellular functionality at three levels:

  • Stimuli (ligand-receptor interactions)
  • Cell signaling and regulation
  • Effect (core metabolism)

With GeneGo software, experimental data can be analyzed to deduce pathways, genes, proteins and metabolites most relevant for specific diseases.

The Bioinformatics Center currently supports GeneGo's MetaCore application. MetaCore allows data analysis for:
  • microarray and SAGE gene expression
  • SNPs and CGH arrays
  • proteomics
  • metabolomics
  • pathway analysis
  • Y2H and other custom interactions

MetaCore is based on manually curated databases of:
  • human protein-protein interactions
  • protein-DNA interactions
  • protein compound interactions
  • metabolic and signaling pathways
  • the effects of bioactive molecules in gene expression
